In 2022, the Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership in the field of energy was signed between the European Union and Azerbaijan, and our supply of natural gas to the European Union is increasing: "This was the request of the European Commission. We answered positively. Currently, half of our natural gas exports, especially 12 billion cubic meters, go to the European Union market. According to the mentioned Memorandum, our export to the European Union should reach 20 billion cubic meters by 2027. We all understand that in this geopolitical situation, this issue is a manifestation of Azerbaijan's responsibility, because we are investing heavily in increasing our gas production, and Europe needs more gas from new sources. At the same time, our green agenda began to be implemented even before the COP29 decision."
This year, Azerbaijan will host the prestigious event - COP29.
